😬 my HONEST (and maybe UNPOPULAR) opinion❗️Everyone raves about Spain, especially Seville & Barcelona, and for good reason – they’re stunning cities! But to be honest, my experience wasn’t what I expected. 😞 I found myself overwhelmed by the crowds, battling for space at every turn. The food, while tasty, wasn’t as mind-blowing as I’d hoped. I also found the language barrier to be bigger compared to many other European countries I’ve been to!Don’t get me wrong, I saw incredible things, but it just wasn’t my vibe. Honestly, this could be a few hour trip vs day trip!🇮🇹 Cinque Terre: Five vibrant villages perched on the Italian Riviera. This place is BEAUTIFUL! Enjoy the breathtaking views, and indulge in some of the freshest seafood you’ll ever taste. You could make this a multiple day trip.🇮🇹 Bologna: This “Red City” was shocking to me! I could spend days exploring the markets and sampling delicious pasta and local wines. Definitely note this spot.🇮🇹 San Gimignano: This medieval gem is a UNESCO World Heritage Site! Check them out BELOW 👇🏼🚄 Train: My personal favorite for long-distance travel! High-speed trains whisk you from Rome or Milan to the heart of Florence (Firenze S.M.N. station) in a flash. It’s efficient, scenic, and gives you a taste of the Tuscan countryside before you even arrive.🚋 Tram: Florence’s tram system is still growing, but the T1 line is a lifesaver! It connects from the main train station to the south of the city, making it super easy to reach destinations like Porta al Prato and Scandicci.🚌 Bus: Don’t be intimidated by the network of buses! ATAF has you covered with routes that crisscross the entire city. Grab a map, study the routes, and don’t be afraid to ask for help. Some of my best adventures started with a spontaneous bus ride! 😉 Also, be sure to download the autolinee Toscane app to buy them ahead of time!🚗 Car: Honestly, ditch the car if you can! Florence’s historic center is a maze of narrow streets, and parking is a nightmare. Plus, you’ll miss out on the joy of discovering hidden gems on foot. If you absolutely need a car, consider calling a taxi via your hotel, airbnb host, or via Whatsapp!🚲 Bike: Feeling adventurous? Hop on a bike! Florence has fantastic bike-sharing programs, and pedaling along the Arno River is pure bliss. Just remember to wear a helmet and be mindful of traffic. You can find areas around the city to rent from if you don’t have your own.🚶‍♀️ Walking: There’s no better way to soak up Florence’s charm than by exploring on foot. Get lost in the streets, stumble upon hidden courtyards, and discover the city’s secrets at your own pace.
